Poetry Magazines Submissions Windows list updated

It’s out – the latest list of UK & Irish poetry magazines with their URLs, submission windows info and other stuff.

There are now over 120 magazines/journals on the list, and quite a few are open now, so get sending!

If you’re on my email list to receive these quarterly updates, you should have heard from me yesterday.

If you’re not, but would like to be, please sign up here (a new landing page – woohoo!)

PS

Many editors are under pressure right now – homeschooling kids, self-isolating, caring for others and so forth. If you’re able to, please consider subscribing to some of these journals. That gets expensive of course, but you could always subscribe to (say) two journals this year, and then two different ones the next year, etc, in a rotation (which is what I do). Or even ordering a single issue helps both the magazine’s finances and your chances of sending them something they’ll want to publish. Thanks a million.

Updated – UK Poetry Mags Subs Windows

It’s that time again!  I’ve updated the list of UK poetry magazines and it’s gone out to everyone who has requested it, as far as I know.

Highlights: 7 new journals added, 59 currently open for submissions (but some closing very soon) and 10 more due to be opening in the next 3 months. (And Popshot is still open until TOMORROW 9AM on the theme of ‘Chance’…)

If you thought you were on the list but didn’t receive it, or if you’d like to be on it, let me know (by email please – robin at robinhoughtonpoetry.co.uk )

I’ve already had a couple more journals recommended which will appear in the next update (December)…

From the replies I’ve had it sounds like people are getting back into writing and submitting now that the summer hols are drawing to a close (for many, anyway!) and autumn’s around the corner (oh dear, I hope I can haul myself out of this quagmire of cliches before starting any new poems…)

Happy Sunday!

Updated – poetry magazine submissions windows

It’s December which means I’m updating the list of magazine submissions windows.

If you ordered A Guide to Getting Published in UK Poetry Magazines then you should have received a version of the list which I updated last month (if you didn’t get the list then I apologise – but this latest version should be coming to you today or tomorrow).

If the last list you received was dated September, then here’s what’s new since then:

The list now contains detail of over 80 journals.

  • NEW journals added: 11
  • Journals with updated information: 26
  • Those with windows open now, some closing quite soon:  15*
  • Those currently closed but opening either later this month or in January:  6
  • Those which welcome submissions at any time: 32

*I would draw your attention to Popshot which closes tomorrow 4th December, also Magma closing on the 8th and Modern Poetry in Translation on 14th.

Also, Ink Sweat & Tears is once again running a ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ call for submissions which is open NOW but closing on 9th December.

A new magazine launching in the Spring, Finished Creatures, opens for submissions next Monday 10th December.

As ever, I’m grateful to people for telling me about amends, additions and so forth.

I’ll be sending it out shortly, as a PDF with clickable links to the submissions pages of each magazine’s website.

This is a free service. If you’re not on the emailing list for quarterly updates and would like to be, either tell me in the comments below or drop me a line – robin at robinhoughtonpoetry dot co dot uk.
